Срещаме ви с Мустафа, Спасимир и Йордан. Все още ученици, но вече шампиони. Призьори в тазгодишното национално състезание „Млад фермер“. Обичат земята, обичат животните и се гордеят както с професията, която са избрали да изучават в училище, така и с фермите, които притежават семействата им.
И тримата са възпитаници на професионалната гимназия по селско стопанство в гр. Разлог. Училище с традиции в аграрния сектор, казва директорката Татяна Динчева, която споделя, че около 70% от възпитаниците на учебното заведение продължават професионалния си път като фермери.
Статистиката им е обнадеждаваща на фона на тревожните данни на ЕК, че повече от половината земеделска земя се управлява от фермери над 55 години. Училища като гимназията в Разлог се опитват да запазят и дори увеличат интереса към тези професии сред младежите, внедрявайки интерактивни методи на обучение.
The future of farming
We meet you with Mustafa, Spasimir and Jordan. Still students, but already champions. Winners of this year’s national competition „Young Farmer“. They love the land, they love animals and they are proud of both the profession they have chosen to study at school and the farms they own. All three are graduates of the Vocational High School of Agricultural Mechanization in Razlog. A school with traditions in the agricultural sector, says the director Tatiana Dincheva, who shares that about 70% of the graduates of the school continue their professional path as farmers. Their statistics are encouraging against the alarming data of the European Commission that more than half of agricultural land is managed by farmers over 55 years. Schools such as the Vocational High School of Agricultural Mechanization in Razlog are trying to maintain and even increase interest in these professions among young people by introducing interactive teaching methods.
One thing is for sure, supporting the next generation of European farmers will not only improve the competitiveness of EU agriculture in the future, but will also ensure Europe’s food security for years to come. However, the incentives for them to start their own business in the sector are important. Stoyan Grozdanov, 40 years old, from Blagoevgrad, who runs a pig and buffalo farm in the regional center, also hopes for better conditions and better times for farmers. For him, his farm is everything and his ambitions for professional development and nutrition of his family are related to animals.
